Anyone can throw a Picnic but not everyone does it with a White Elephant Auction. A ‘white elephant’ is a possession unwanted by the owner but difficult to dispose of handily. One person’s white elephant may be someone else’s treasure! We’ve seen fur coats, bicycles, old computers, camping gear, games & puzzles, six-foot wind chimes … you name it really. And oh yes, books, always lots and lots of books. Proceeds, or the total sales collected from the auction, go to our local scholarship fund. Start thinking about what you may want to bring now.
