Mid-America Mensa (MAM) donates several scholarships each year in addition to those awarded at the national level. Applicants write essays in accordance with specified rules and guidelines. Essays are submitted to our Local Scholarship Coordinator no later than January 15th each year. We depend on volunteers to read and score each essay. After local judging, essays are then passed on to the regional and national judges. After the national and regional scholarship winners are announced, the Board will then decide on how many scholarships and in what amounts MAM awards locally.
