Saturday, September 26th, at 6:00 p.m. – Sunset takes place at 7:05 p.m.
At the home of Shawn and Diana Dyer in the Kansas City metro area
We hope to get better acquainted in a fun and casual atmosphere. Maybe play a few yard games or just hang out. Bring the kids, bring your family, bring your friends. They will want to know what you’re up to when you tell them you’re going to attend a Mensa event.
When you get there, follow the pennants to find your way to the firepit and festivities in the Dyers’ half-acre backyard.
We’ll roast hot dogs, brats, marshmallows (and think S’mores), and whatever other cookout fare we can think of. Bring a dish to share. Sip some gentle libations. Bring your own if you have a favorite drink or brew.
Dress for comfort and maybe bring a coat or sweater to be cozy just in case it’s cool that day. We have several picnic tables with built-in benches. There will be a few camp chairs but maybe not enough, so bring one along just to be sure you and yours have a seat.
Please RSVP to Shawn and Diana Dyer >> [email protected]
Everyone is welcome, even at the very last minute, but RSVP if you can so we know how many to shop for. If you can’t respond early, then come anyway and bring some munchies and drinks.
We don’t plan to roast any new members but as we get to know you better over the next few months … watch out next year.
What better way to say goodbye to summer and (belatedly) celebrate the arrival of this year’s autumnal equinox on the 22nd than at this sixth annual Bonfire Party. We didn’t sing Kumbaya last year … but it might happen. It’s that kind of evening. Hope to see you there!
