Buffet style dinner and soft beverages are free for new members and one guest per each. For seasoned members the cost is $20, which includes taxes and gratuities. There is a cash bar available for those who might want a glass of wine (or something else) to go with dinner.
If you’ve been a member for a couple of years and you wonder if you’re a new member for this party, then these are the guidelines:
- If you joined or transferred your membership to MAM after August 31st, 2019, then you’re a new member to us.
- If you rejoined MAM since that date, you’re a new member if your membership had been lapsed for five years or more.

The Wheat Room at Barley’s has a maximum seating capacity of 64, so RSVPs are required. Unpaid reservations for seasoned members are not guaranteed. If you wish to make sure your place is reserved, you can send a check to MAM c/o Treasurer Diana Dyer, 10804 Hickman Heights Road, Kansas City, MO 64137. Or, you may choose to use MAM’s PayPal account to guarantee your reservation. If you prefer this method, then Sara will have PayPal send an invoice for payment to you. Either way, RSVPs should go directly to Sara so she knows immediately who is coming without having to wait for the periodic accounting process to take place.
It has been over three years since our last New Member Party in September 2019. Before COVID we hosted these events in spring and fall. We hope we will now be able to get back on that schedule. We have a lot of new members with which to get acquainted. We hope you can join us!
