Many, if not all, of our acclaimed Mid-America Mensa members make important and generous contributions in their professions and to Mensa. Clive Sinclair (1940 – 2021) was a well-known member and hero of British Mensa; and, at one time, his achievements were publicized in magazines around the world. He started out by making match box radios, then the first, really pocket-sized calculators. He and his company, Sinclair Research, made other important innovations and had many industrial triumphs – much from his Mensa contacts which he often said to and of his Mensa friends. Finally, his personal computers were well-recognized because they were, at one time, sold more than any other brand in the world. It takes someone like a Clive Sinclair to confirm my belief that it is truly apex-to-apex how contributions are made when near the top of any profession and when belonging to an educational organization such as Mensa – the High IQ Society.
