The leaves around here show that Spring is about to spring upon us. March brings the vernal equinox for us in the Northern Hemisphere. So, day and night should be exactly twelve hours long in terms of our clocks. Now, let’s take a look at what is happening in Mid-America Mensa during this March.
For March, our Ethnic Eats group is headed to Browne’s Irish Marketplace & Deli. Because St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th, we are bound to find something special by attending this event on Saturday, March 14th at 1:00 pm. Browne’s Irish Marketplace is located at 3300 Pennsylvania Ave., Kansas City, MO. RSVP to Karin Miller, <[email protected]>, if you are interested in going.
Later on, new (and not-so-new) MAM members are welcome to join us Sunday, March 29th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers & Brews, 7111 W 95th Street, Overland Park, KS, for our spring New Member Party. If you are interested in attending this event, RSVP to Cynthia Heller at (913) 706-2768 or email <[email protected]>.
Finally, two friendly reminders:
- Do you want a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon? CultureQuest® is being held on Sunday, May 3rd. If you need help forming a team or you are looking for a team to join, contact Paul Hough before March 29th. See the March Mension (or the national website) for more CultureQuest® info and all of the contact details.
- Mid-America Mensa has been flooded with scholarship essays this year. Essays are up by almost a 50% increase in the number that will make it through to the final round. Thus, we urge all interested Mensa members and non-members to help out with judging the (final) 40-50 best essays to be presented for judging. Please contact Rhonda Johnston at (913) 671-8736 or email <[email protected]> with your questions or for more info about participating in this event.
