Annual Gathering in Kansas City, July 3–7, 2024, <ag.us.mensa.org>

Colloquium on July 2nd — <https://www.us.mensa.org/attend/colloquium/>

The first Colloquium was held in October 1982, citing as its purpose:  To offer a forum for any interested Mensan to explore, debate, evaluate, and offer judgment on a major issue of long-range importance to society.

Using the format of that first event as a springboard, each Colloquium — now presented by the Mensa Education & Research Foundation — has made changes, learning from previous experiences, and adding new features. Colloquium participants come primed to discuss whatever topic is presented, not primarily to socialize — although there is also ample time to do that. This day-long educational event is also open to the general public.

From the Mensa Foundation website located at the following web address, <https://www.mensafoundation.org/what-we-do/education-and-outreach/colloquium/>:

“Join us on July 2nd in Kansas City or via livestream for the 2024 Mensa Foundation Annual Colloquium. This year’s topic, Giftedness Across the Lifespan: Giftedness in the Workplace, features a distinguished panel of advocates and expert researchers delving into the real experiences of gifted individuals in the workplace, providing valuable insights for both employees and employers.”

“Our exploration uncovers the complexities and challenges gifted individuals face, offering genuine perspectives into their career journeys. We’ll share practical strategies for creating nurturing work environments that empower gifted employees and benefit organizations. From early career choices to leadership roles and retirement, our guidance is essential for all stakeholders interested in maximizing unique talents in the workplace.”

The Colloquium is open to everyone – everyone is welcome! An American Mensa membership is not required to attend, but a Mensa website account is required to register. Registration for the in-person event is $139. Registration to attend via livestream is $99.
