It’s time for our annual Mid-America Mensa (MAM) picnic, a time to enjoy the great outdoors and great friendships! MAM will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and buns, plus condiments, cups, plasticware, water and other light non-alcoholic beverages. Bring your own favorite potluck dish to share. This is a great opportunity for our young M’s and their families to meet in person! There are two playgrounds (a toddler one for ages 2–5 years next to the 5–12 playground), both a few minutes’ walk from our shelter. The shelter itself is large enough to accommodate sidewalk chalk, bubble blowing, and other favorites. In addition, help fund the scholarships we offer to students in our area! Clean out your closets and bring your good condition items to share. Be prepared for good finds and fun bidding! Also, it’s a picnic tradition to bring donations for Harvesters. Gather up your new books for youngsters from birth through grade school ages to donate to the Reach Out and Read program as well. Please RSVP to Cynthia Heller and be sure to check the July Mension for more information. Hope to see you there!
