Jim Lammers, CEO Trinity Animation

Our keynote speaker, who started his own 3D animation company Trinity Animation in 1994, will talk about how his company creates 3D environments for the hit television series ARCHER on FX, and other animation topics.  (In the way back days, Jim also provided cover art for the Mension.)

Cynthia Levin, Producing Artistic Director, Unicorn Theater

Cynthia is in her 41st year at the Unicorn Theater!  Over the years she has served as a director, actor, designer or producer for over 300 productions.  Cynthia is known for championing and producing the work of new playwrights and introducing Kansas City theater goers to an ongoing selection of avant-garde theater experiences.

Tajma Stetson, Drag Artist, Professional Clarinetist

By day Tajma works for The Roasterie and on stages he works as a clarinetist for both the Kansas City Civic Orchestra and Kinnor Philharmonic, one of three Jewish orchestras in the United States, and also as a drag artist.  Tajma has competed in a number of national pageants and reigned as the Miss Gay United States in 2019.  He also serves on the education and outreach committee of KC’s AIDS Service Foundation and has organized and performed in numerous chamber music concerts benefiting AIDS Walk KC.

Becky RayAuthor of Kansas City Hauntings: History and Mystery of the Paris of the Plains

In addition to being an author, Becky Ray is a guide for Kansas City hauntings and has been an investigator of the unknown for over 35 years. Becky’s knowledge of the paranormal has been featured on NPR, in the Wall Street Journal, and on several local media outlets, including radio, television, and print.

Diane Peterson, Johnson County Coroner and Chief Medical Examiner

Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of a coroner or medical examiner might be like? What do they really do?  Now is your chance to find out!  Diane will talk about what she does and some of the things she has encountered in the course of her work.

Designated by the U.S. Congress as “America’s Home” for Negro Leagues baseball history, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City is a local gem.  Come learn about the museum and the storied history of the Negro Leagues.

Rita ThurmanPixie Smash Forge bladesmith and artist, Past Champion on History Channel’s Forged in Fire

Rita will share some of her experiences on her path to becoming a bladesmith and, of course, some inside scoop about what it was like to earn her place as a champion on Forged in Fire.

Matt Henry (aka Luc Fitzwarrin), Society for Creative Anachronism

Matt has been involved with the Society for Creative Anachronism for many years and has attained the title of Knight of the Society.  The Kansas City group has one of the largest Medieval reenactments in the United States.  Matt will talk about the history of the national organization as well as the Kansas City group, show off his garb and maybe share some stories.

Tim will discuss what inspired his career and what often inspires others to follow their talents. He will show how sometimes just seeing the possibilities can expand your path far beyond your expectations.  He will also share some of the fun and unique projects in which he has been involved.
