Early bird registration per adult is $75, which raises to $90 after January 7, 2022. Registration is $25 for anyone under 18 years of age. Find the Cabin Fever registration form in the centerfold of the December Mension — or register online at https://www.mamensa.org/cabin-fever-4-0/. For night owls who want to play games into the small hours, or anyone who doesn’t want to worry about driving home after the other late night activities, hotel reservation information is also given on the centerfold registration form.

Hospitality

We will have two Hospitality suites from Friday evening through Sunday morning. One will be for adults only and the other will be more family friendly. Snacks and soft drinks will be served in both, but alcohol will be available only in the adult suite. In the family friendly suite, we will also play board/card/social games, including Werewolf if we have enough players. If you are staying at the Radisson, your Friday and Saturday breakfasts are included with your registration. If you’re not staying at the Hotel, you can still join us either day for breakfast for $8.99 person person.

Friday Evening

On Friday evening in the adult suite our own brewing expert – Curt Krambeck – has agreed to lead a beer tasting. We will have various snacks to pair with the beers.

Saturday Activities

Gamesters and board game aficionados will want to gravitate to the Prairie Room, where they can play to their hearts’ content. Or, we may want to head over to Salon A to check out the line-up of speakers and presentations being prepared for us. For Saturday lunch, the great MAM Soup Contest returns in the family friendly suite. From past experience, we’re in for a great taste treat. If you would like to participate in the soup contest, please indicate that on your registration form.

Saturday dinner is included in your Cabin Fever RG registration. Enjoy fine dining and a fascinating address by our keynote speaker, Jim Lammers, of Trinity Animation fame. Jim will show how his company produces animation for the hit series Archer as well as for a variety of other clients worldwide. He will take questions on any related topic. There will be a cash bar during the dinner and keynote presentation for those who want more than coffee, tea, or water with their dinner.

After dinner, stay for the ballroom dance class led by Rachel Szmed. Rachel is a regionally known dance choreographer and she has worked on numerous musicals in our area. On Saturday night in the adult suite, an internationally known wine sommelier from Phoenix Area Mensa – Richard Poole – has agreed to lead a wine tasting. This will be accompanied with a cheese tasting to pair with the wines.

Sunday Morning

We will wrap it up on Sunday morning with a breakfast buffet in the Hotel atrium. After breakfast, our LocSec Kim Jackowski will give her closing remarks and announce the contest award winners. Board games and puzzles will continue in the Prairie Room until 10:30 am, at which time, we will wrap up the RG. And we will start planning for the next Cabin Fever!
