Oral History Project

By now most, if not all, of our members have received information about the Oral History Project. The initial contact was by email, with follow-up postcards and email, with a return address of American Mensa, Ltd, Oral History Project, and signed by Executive Director Trevor Mitchell. The communications asked members to call a number to verify their membership information and share their stories. When users call the number listed, they are greeted by an operator who goes through a lengthy series of questions, and then ends with an invitation to purchase a book package for the yet-to-be-published book. The official description of the project can be found on the national Mensa website: us.mensa.org/oralhistory

Grunauer in October was lovely and not very expensive. Half a dozen of us gathered for a nod to Oktoberfest. COVID has been hard on German restaurants in town. Among the tastes that tempted us were: a cheesy spaetzle, a very filling steak sandwich, a quinoa salad, Hungarian goulash, and the alpine meat and cheese tray with spicy mustard, red cabbage, pretzel roll, and rye toast. Several of us tasted the German beers. Overall, it was a tasteful adventure with great service. Join us at Yuva Eats, a progressive Nepalese Indian kitchen, in November — and please RSVP.

Happy Thanksgiving!
